Malabar Cancer Centre, one of the pioneer institutes in cancer research, demands each and every recent updates about cancer treatment from all over the world. MCC’s vision is “To become a centre of excellence in cancer treatment and research and occupy a place amongst the most eminent cancer institutions of the nation”.
Library is the centre of clinical information centre for the hospital, is keeping pace with recent state of art technology and library activities and continuous to functions as an information resource centre. Library is the heart of the institution. It is the backbone of research and development activities every organizations. Our library deemed to the integral part of the progress of MCC in all its academic activities. Our Medical Library caters to the needs of Doctors, nurses, others Para medical staffs and staff and students from other hospitals or academic institutions from all over the country.
COLLECTIONS
MEDICAL BOOKS: MCC has a medical library with 3409 printed medical books and over 150 online books in all areas of Oncology and related disciplines.
PRINTED JOURNALS: Around 25 printed journals
ONLINE JOURNALS: Over 47 online journals +NCG Support online access (More than 200)
Up-to-date: Up-To-Date is an evidence-based clinical decision support system by Wolters Kluwer, USA. Up-to-date is continuously updated and is one of the most heavily
used medical information resources globally. Up-to-date subscription started from 2013 onwards. Around 25 printed journals.
DETAILS OF EXISTING / NEW SERVICES/ FACILITIES
24x7 SERVICES: To get 24x7 access for users. RFID with CCTV cameras has been implemented in the Library. RFID facility started from 2014 onwards.
REFERENCE SERVICES: Our reference collection has a special collection in the field of Oncology. Multi-volume books and one copy of each duel kept in reference.
The reference section started in 2013.
SDI SERVICES: Assists users in finding the latest information regarding their areas of expertise and interest.
DEPARTMENT LIBRARY: The Department Library system started in 2012 and at present, we have more than 9 departmental and 5 division libraries.
ORIENTATION SERVICES: Provided orientation to new users how to use e access and library in proper way.
RISOGRAPH-PRINTING SERVICES: Produce high volume of print copies at lower cost than toner copies. This facility was started in 2017.
