Medical Library
MCC-PGIOSR medical library offers seamless learning resources to its users. Our Library act as Knowledge hub and backbone of research and academic activities through world class resources and value added information services in all areas of Oncology and related disciplines. Medical Library provides integrated library infrastructure for the effective use of electronic resources. Library is the centre of clinical information for the hospital, is keeping pace with recent state of art technology. Our library deemed to the integral part of the progress of MCC in all its academic activities. We provided 24 X 7 services. Our Medical Library caters to the needs of Doctors, nurses, others Para medical staffs and staff and students from other hospitals or academic institutions from all over the country.
COLLECTIONS
MEDICAL BOOKS : MCC has a medical library with 3409 printed medical books and over 150 online books in all areas of Oncology and related disciplines.
PRINTED JOURNALS : Around 25 printed journals
ONLINE JOURNALS : Over 47 online journals +NCG Support online access (More than 200)
Up-to-date: Up-To-Date is an evidence based clinical decision support system by Wolters Kluwer, USA. Up-to-date is continuously updated and is one of the most heavily used medical information resources globally. Up-to-date subscription started from 2013 onwards.
SERVICES: 24X7 access for users. Our library users are busy with their clinical practices during day time and so they cannot utilize their day time for their research activities. To get 24x7 access for users Medical Library by implementing RFID with CCTV camera in the Library.
REFERENCE SERVICES: Our reference collection has special collection in the field of Oncology. Multi volume books and one copy of each duel kept in reference.
ORIENTATION SERVICES: Provided orientation to new users how to use e access and library in proper way.
RISOGRAPH-PRINTING SERVICES: Produce high volume of print copies at lower cost than toner copies
DEPARTMENTAL LIBRARY: Departmental Library started in 2012. Now we have more than 8 departmental libraries. Departments maintain two register, that is, a stock register and issue register. The present medical library should be act as focal point, which is central library to the institution.
Hospital Library
A unique Hospital Library for patients, their relatives, and staff is functioning in the centre since 2004.The library is funded by the Kerala state Library council. A unique Hospital Library for patients, their relatives, and staff is functioning in the centre since 2004. The hospital library is supported by Kerala State Library Council. All administrative work involving the purchase of Books, subscription of journals, scrutiny of bills for the payment, calling for tenders, quotations, etc., are carried out, under this division. Now we have around 10335 books and 31 magazines.
