Department of Anaesthesiology at Malabar cancer centre Hospital has been an integral part of the Institute. It has contributed immensely to the growth of the Institute and helping in its growth to an Institute of excellence in all aspects of cancer care. It is committed to excellence in clinical anaesthesia which includes anaesthesia, critical care services and pain management .Department is planning for academic courses and research activities in the near future.
Over the years, along with the development of medical sciences, the department has set up its own high standards in patient care, education and research. All clinical departments are anchored to this specialty. The department follows an integrated approach and standard protocols for patient care, education and research.
The surgical intensive care unit of MCC is situated within operation theatre complex. In our ICU, post-surgical patients and critically ill patients are admitted. The unit is into ICU with 10 beds and post anesthesia recovery unit with 5 beds. Our patient population includes those undergoing complex onco-surgical procedures including gastrointestinal, gynecologic, urologic, thoracic, orthopedic, head and neck, breast and micro vascular surgeries. From admission to discharge, the patient and families are involved in all clinical decisions. Duty doctor and nursing personnel are available round the clock to address the physical and emotional needs of the patient and their family.

The scope of anaesthesia services provided by our department includes the following:
Operation theatre:- Anaesthesia for elective and emergency oncology surgeries
