Kerala University of Health Sciences launched a holistic approach for the welfare of students named Student Support Guidance programme. The emphasis given in this programme is the overall development of the students by addressing their academic, psychosocial physical and reproductive health issues. Holistic student support service programme has been developed by pooling the knowledge and vision of academicians, development of professionals and the student community. The programme activities were designed at par with the largest strategic concepts in health human resources development. Mentor -Mentee meeting is conducting every month and addressing all kinds of problems of students. As the numbers of crimes against girls are rising in the country, SSGP unit of Institute of nursing sciences and research in collaboration with Kerala police conducted a self-defense Programme for girls to empower through comprehensive awareness and practical training program. SSGP team has a significant role in the overall development of the students during their student life.
